Electronic Arts has announced the release of Front Office Football 2001, its latest football-management simulation game. Players assume the role of the general manager of a real-life professional football team. The game features both the NFL and the NFL Players Inc licenses, complete with team logos and updated rosters for the year 2000. Players get the chance to manage all aspects of the team and to pit the team against other franchises through up to 100 seasons.

Players are responsible for drafting and trading players, negotiating salaries and contracts, setting ticket prices, and bidding for new coaches and scouts. In addition, the game automatically simulates every play of the on-field action. For players who want more hands-on control, the game features an option to develop the team's offensive and defensive strategies, and even call plays.
