Some of them are downright unsettling.

When the new Friday the 13th game was announced, its developers said they didn't plan to hold back on the blood and gore. That definitely appears to be the case, as a new trailer for the game released at PAX West is incredibly brutal and unsettling.

Maybe don't watch if you're squeamish; some of the death sequences are horrific, like when Jason pushes someone's eyeballs into their face and lodges a pick-axe into an unfortunate soul's neck. If you're up for it, the video is above.

Now Playing: Friday the 13th: The Game - PAX West 2016 Trailer

Friday the 13th: The Game began its life as a game called Slasher Vol 1: Summer Camp before the Friday the 13th franchise's rights-holders, including Sean Cunningham, contacted developer Gun Media. The rights were given to Gun Media for free, and the game eventually morphed into a full-blown Friday the 13th title.

It's a multiplayer game where one person plays as Jason, while the others take on the role of campers. Some of the archetypes for characters include "the girl next door" and "the jock," among others.
