French esports organization VeryGames to disband by year's end
In a post on the VeryGames website, the organization detailed plans to shut down by December 31st.
This article was originally published on GameSpot's sister site onGamers.com, which was dedicated to esports coverage.
VeryGames, the organization behind the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive who placed second in at ESWC just weeks ago, explained on their website today that the team would be shutting down by December 31st.
The VeryGames statement begins, "After five years of existence, five years at the top level against all odds, five years to go around the world and worthily represent his sponsors, five years to make our hearts beat, the Team VeryGames association will cease his activity the end of December 2013." They would continue to explain that the financial burden going into 2014 would simply too much for the organization to shoulder, and was the sole reason for the organization shutting down.
An HLTV.org article shedding more light on the situation would reveal that the core members of their Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team would be staying together and looking for a new organization to support them.
@GN4Rcandy Calm down, players will continue playing :))
