Freedom Force patch adds skirmish, other modes

Irrational Games releases a major update to its superhero role-playing game that includes new game modes.

Irrational Games has released a major patch to Freedom Force to add a number of promised new features. The version 1.1 patch adds a "danger room" skirmish mode that lets players set up battles that pit their favorite superheroes against up to 24 enemies. For another challenge, players can face waves and waves of enemies in three new modes of play: instant action, iron man, and beat the clock. To enhance the story-based campaign, the patch makes it possible to replay any of the missions that have been completed, and there's a new "impossible" difficulty level.

Freedom Force is a role-playing game that takes its inspiration from the silver age of comic books. The tactical combat system allows players to control up to four customizable heroes at once. For more information, read our full review of the game.
