Today, Free Radical gave gamers their first looks at their upcoming title Second Sight. According to the British developer, the game is entering the final stages of development and will be released for the GameCube, Xbox, and PlayStation 2 later this year. The release did not mention a publisher, though Free Radical recently inked a deal with Electronic Arts to publish the third TimeSplitters game.

Free Radical describes Second Sight as having "an immersive thriller storyline with paranormal psychic abilities, stealthy exploration, and intense shooter action." Like the upcoming Breakdown, the game begins with an amnesiac who wakes up in a medical lab with superhuman powers. This time around, the game's hero, John Vattic, is an ESP-enhanced soldier who's recovering from a bungled black-ops mission in central Siberia. Throughout the course of the game, Vattic learns more and more about his last mission--and how it went horribly wrong.

Besides the quote above, details on Second Sight's gameplay were scant, though the screenshots feature duels between machine gun-toting soldiers and a levitating man, who is presumably Vattic. GameSpot will have more details on Second Sight as they emerge.
