Cryo Interactive today officially announced its upcoming sci-fi action-adventure game, Frank Herbert's Dune. The game, as the title implies, is based on Frank Herbert's classic novel Dune, and it lets players assume the role of Paul Atreides during his initiation into the Fremen society. As in the novel, the hero must perform a series of missions to earn the trust of the Fremen. The company also released a new group of screenshots from the game displaying some of the environments and characters players will encounter.

Frank Herbert's Dune is in development at Widescreen Games, and it is scheduled for release in November for the PC and the Sony PlayStation 2. For more information, take a look at our previous coverage of the game.
