Frag Master Releases

ThrustMaster moves in on the first-person shooter crowd.

ThrustMaster may be one of the best known names for its series of controllers for the flight sim enthusiast, but now it's making moves on the first-person shooter crowd.

The company has just released its new Frag Master controller. Designed to replace the keyboard in first person shooter titles like Quake or Unreal, the US$69.95 two-handed controller claims to help the accuracy of all players' gameplay.

Through ThurstMaster's MegaHurts operating mode, any Windows 95/98 game that can use a joystick or a gamepad for control will be able to use the Frag Master as an alternative controller. The controller comes with ten programmable buttons.

While we'll agree that it does look more like some sort of device you'd see on Star Trek, one editor here at GameSpot who played with the device during E3 said that it really does work well and doesn't feel quirky at all. So if you're looking to sharpen your fragging skills, the Frag Master just might constitute as another present to add to your holiday gift list.
