Fox Interactive Confirms Sequel to Aliens versus Predator

More horror for fans of the original is headed to the PC, and the game could show up on the PS2 and Xbox.

Fox Interactive confirmed that there is indeed going to be a sequel to Aliens versus Predator. Monolith Productions will develop the game for the PC and will use an advanced version of its LithTech Engine. Additionally, GameSpot has learned that the game might also be developed for next-generation consoles. Jeff Hutt of Monolith told Gamespot News that "though the game is currently only in development for the PC, we are very interested in the PlayStation 2 and the Xbox."

Although further details on the possible console versions were unavailable, David Stalker, producer of Alien versus Predator said, "We are excited to confirm that a sequel is, in fact, happening and is being developed by Monolith. We've listened to the hard-core sci-fi fans and devoted gamers of the original AVP and we are developing a story-driven plot, which will be the cornerstone of the sequel."

Jason Hall, CEO of Monolith added, "We're thrilled to announce that this game will use the most advanced iteration of LithTech engine technology available. The new enhancements will allow gamers unprecedented immersion into the AVP universe."
