After wrapping up a successful open beta for the PC, upcoming extraction shooter Hawked is setting its sights on a second open beta that will test the game's cross-play capabilities. The cross-play beta will take place from August 31 to September 4, pitting PC players against those checking out Hawked on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

Hawked is a PvPvE extraction shooter that sees teams of three players racing to extract Artifacts from a mysterious island, facing off against monsters, puzzles, traps, and other players to achieve their goals. Its colorful, stylised visuals as well as the dynamic island map are reminiscent of battle royale hit Fortnite, though Hawked's gameplay is set to be quite different.

The first open beta for Hawked on the PC wrapped up on August 17. "Feedback from the first OBT was incredibly helpful to us and it helps us shape the product, this crossplay OBT is another step in that process," said Hawked executive producer Andy Duthie. "We're also very keen on seeing how PlayStation players will like the game and weaving all player feedback into Hawked is a core part of our development process."

Like the first open beta, players who take part in the cross-play test will unlock the free Renegade Pass, allowing them to unlock exclusive cosmetics that they'll be able to bring into the game at launch. Players who participated in the first open beta will be able to continue any progress they've already made on the Renegade Pass, and the second beta will be awarding players a progression boost to help them unlock more items.
