First look: WWE SmackDown! Here Comes the Pain

THQ has today released new gameplay information on WWE SmackDown! Here Comes the Pain for the PlayStation 2. The game, which is currently in development at Yuke's, was only officially announced earlier this week but is currently scheduled for release this fall.

In WWE SmackDown! Here Comes the Pain, players will be able to create and develop their own WWE superstar in an exclusive story mode created by WWE writers, featuring both original plotlines and memorable WWE moments. The game will feature an improved control system with in-depth countering and an interactive submission system, and each of the 55 wrestlers in the game will have realistic attributes for strength, submission, technique, speed, and stamina.

New match types in the game will include First Blood, Bra & Panty, and Elimination Chamber, and players will be able to track their progress with seasonal stats and earn money that can be spent building up their wrestler's abilities or unlocking hidden features.
