The Worms series is the most successful from Team17 to date, and it looks like it won't end anytime soon. While the team is working on a 3D version, as reported previously, it also has a unique online game in the pipeline for the Dreamcast named Worms World Party, which is set for a release on both the Dreamcast and the PC in November.

The Dreamcast version sports 40 single-player missions and 20 extended training levels. You can also set up a tournament game with up to eight teams and battle it out in the Worms World Cup. However, the core of the game will be WormNet, the online gaming function of Worms World Party. On WormNet, it will be possible to play against any other person on the globe. It will also be possible to form cooperative or confrontational teams. The PC version will even sport an editor for new missions, but it's not known yet whether such an editor is also planned for the Dreamcast version. We'll find out and let you know soon. In the meantime, enjoy the three screenshots linked above.
