First look: UFC: Throwdown

We have screenshots from Crave Entertainment's PS2 exclusive game based on the sport of Ultimate Fighting.

Crave Entertainment announced Ultimate Fighting Championship: Throwdown for the Sony PlayStation 2 just prior to E3. Now, GameSpot has received several new screenshots from the game. UFC: Throwdown is exclusive to the PS2 and is being designed specifically to take advantage of Sony's console. The game will feature more than 25 actual UFC fighters, including current heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz. Modes of play will include arcade, round robin multiplayer tournament, as well as the traditional modes of play such as UFC, championship, and career.

In the revamped career mode, players will be able to customize their own fightersand train them through a variety of minigames and by sparring. Fighters will also be able to visit different gyms and learn unique fighting moves in disciplines such as jiu jitsu, karate, and boxing. Ultimate Fighting Championship: Throwdown will be released for the PS2 in Q1 2002.

Crave Entertainment will also release Ultimate Fighting Championship: Tapout exclusively for the Microsoft Xbox.
