Metro 3D, the developer of Dark Angel: Vampire Apocalypse and the upcoming Armada 2, is creating an original Xbox game titled Shayde: Monsters vs. Humans. The first-person action game will feature both single-player story-driven missions and multiplayer online gameplay. In the single-player mode, the player will choose the side of either the humans or the evil monsters and attempt to complete 36 missions for each of the playable characters. In the online mode, up to eight players on two teams of four will be able to compete head-to-head over Microsoft's Xbox network. The game's graphics have a decidedly gothic flair, as castles and dark, cavernous underground settings generally make up the game's environments. The screenshots shown are from an early version of the game, which won't be released until late 2002. However, Metro 3D promises that the final game will feature highly detailed environments and character models.
Currently, Metro 3D plans to release Shayde: Monsters vs. Humans around Halloween 2002 for the Xbox. The game is currently being developed exclusively for Microsoft's console.
