Capcom is developing a medley of Mega Man X games for the GBC in Japan.

Capcom recently announced the development of Rockman X2: Soul Eraser for the Japanese Game Boy Color. The game will consist of stages from three previous Rockman X games for the Super Famicom system: Rockman X, Rockman X2, and Rockman X3. As per the trend established by the X series, players will be able to play as both Rockman and Zero in this Game Boy installment. Unlike previous games, however, players will have the option of switching characters midstage. Also, the game's subtitle--Soul Eraser--refers to the mysterious villain who will debut in this Game Boy installment. Aside from these presented, no other details have emerged.

Known as Mega Man to North American audiences, Capcom's android mascot has starred in a horde of games, spanning many genres and platforms. The Mega Man X series in particular was born on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and eventually saw both Sega Saturn and Sony PlayStation installments.

Capcom is aiming to release Rockman X2: Soul Eraser this summer in Japan. The company has not announced any plans to bring the game to the US.
