First look: NCAA College Football 2K2

While the NFL 2K series caters to the Sunday crowd, NCAA College Football 2K2 from Visual Concepts will simulate the pride and pageantry of Saturday afternoon and evening college football games. As reported previously, modes of play in NCAA College Football 2K2 will include single season, dynasty, tournament, single game, single bowl, and scrimmage. Although based on the NFL 2K2 engine, the game will have features that are specific to the college game. For example, option plays are now part of the game, as quarterbacks can run the ball themselves, hand off, or pitch to a back at will. Additionally, Visual Concepts will implement a momentum meter, which will increase the home teams' performance stats based on successful plays and strong performance. Players will also be able to design their own plays and create custom playbooks using pre-set formations.

Of course, in the game's network mode up to eight players will be able to go head-to-head online against other NCAA College Football 2K2 players nationwide. NCAA College Football 2K2 will be released for the Sega Dreamcast this Fall.
