Massachusetts-based game developer Mad Doc Software is working on Jane's Attack Squadron, the next game in the Jane's series of flight combat simulations. The game is set during World War II, and it will let players assume the role of either an Axis or an Allied pilot in a variety of battles in the European theater.

Most of the game's missions focus on low-level attacks on ground- and sea-based targets. The game will include single missions, quick missions, and full campaigns, as well as multiplayer support for up to eight players. It will feature 14 different aircraft, all modeled with detailed 3D cockpits with working dials and gauges. Some of the aircraft featured in the game include the American P-38, P-47, P-51, and B-17 and the German Fw-190, Me-262, Bf-109, and Ju-88. The game also features realistic aircraft damage modeling. In addition, more than 1 million square miles of Western Europe will appear in the game, with hundreds of villages, towns, and cities, as well as rivers, railroads, highways, and airfields.

Jane's Attack Squadron will be published by Xicat Interactive. No official release date has been announced. For more information, visit the official Mad Doc Software Web site.
