Duplex Systems has launched a new official Web site for Face of Mankind, its upcoming massively multiplayer online role-playing game. The site includes a general overview of the game's background story and features, along with a group of new screenshots, which we've posted here.

Face of Mankind is set in the 24th century in a persistent universe. Human colonies have been established in space, but alien species have started to threaten their safety. Many back on Earth fear that the aliens will soon threaten their home planet as well, and social stability quickly deteriorates. Players will assume the role of a character either on Earth or in a remote space colony. They will be able to play as one of several different character types, including soldiers, law enforcers, rebels, traders, miners, and producers. They can join one of 10 large organizations, including military, corporate, and rebel groups. The game will feature elements of role-playing, action, and economic strategy, and it is being built on LithTech's Talon 3D engine.

No official publisher or release date for the game has been announced. For more information, visit the official Face of Mankind Web site.
