Light & Shadow Production (LSP) and French company Wannadoo have released new information on and screenshots from their latest Game Boy Advance project, titled Extreme Ghostbusters: Code Ecto-1. The half-human/half-demon Count Mercharior has kidnapped Roland and Garett, two key members of the Ghostbusters team. The remaining team members, Eduardo and Kylie, immediately set off to find them, determined to capture the ghosts who have come to invade the city. Armed with a proton gun, players have to eliminate ghosts, find secret passages, recover energy, and acquire bombs and traps. LSP calls the game a combination of platform- and shooter elements with occasional races through the streets of New York, played from a top-down perspective.

In total, there will be 12 platform levels throughout four areas. The areas are Broadway Star Theater, the cemetery, the Botanical Museum, and a skyscraper. Both Eduardo and Kylie will be playable in the game, and each will have his or her own abilities. Extreme Ghostbusters: Code Ecto-1 is expected to ship in March 2002 on the Game Boy Advance.
