Ubi Soft announced today that it will publish seven titles based on Steven Spielberg's E.T. The Extraterrestrial in March 2002. The game releases are set to coincide with the release of the upcoming special edition of the movie, which will feature CG enhancements and a digitally remastered soundtrack by John Williams. Ubi Soft's range of products will be released across four platforms: the PlayStation, the PC, the Game Boy Advance, and the Game Boy Color.

Naturally, in the games, players will need to help E.T. find his way home. One of the games, to be released on all four aforementioned platforms, features a mixture of action and puzzle elements. The game will be aimed at a younger audience, and as such, it will include a practice mode that will let players acquaint themselves with the controls.

More details on the game will follow soon. The screenshots are taken from the PC version of the game. Additional E.T. titles will be released for the PC.
