First look: ESPN NFL PrimeTime 2002 PS2

Konami releases new screenshots from its upcoming football game for the PlayStation 2.

Comments

Konami has released new screenshots from ESPN NFL PrimeTime 2002 for the PlayStation 2. The game will include five gameplay modes: season, general manager, tournament, exhibition, and practice. The general manager mode will function similarly to franchise modes found in other football games--players will be able to make trades, pick up free agents, and build a team. In addition, there will be an extensive create-a-player mode that will allow players to import the created players into their franchise. Created players' attributes will increase as they see action on the field.

Edgerrin James of the Indianapolis Colts will be the game's cover athlete, and the presentation will include interviews both before and after games. Graphical niceties include real-time stadium reflections on helmets, uniforms that accumulate dirt as the game progresses, and polygonal coaches pacing the sideline.

ESPN NFL PrimeTime 2002 is currently scheduled for release October 30. We'll have more information as it surfaces.
