First Look: Dreamcast Tee Off Golf

We play some holes on Acclaim's new arcade-style golf title for the Dreamcast, which features golfers with oversized heads.

We took Acclaim's new Dreamcast golf game Tee Off Golf for a spin today. Featuring golfers with heads disproportionately larger than the their bodies, Tee Off Golf bears a strong likeness to the Hot Shots Golf series. It also plays just like the Hot Shots games. However, due to the stronger graphical capabilities of the Dreamcast hardware, Tee Off Golf looks cleaner and sharper than any previous console golf title to date. In addition, it sports a lively and fun interface.

The game lets players select from through six modes of play, including: world tour, free round, stroke play, match play, point play, and millennium. In these modes you can play on five courses from around the world (Africa, America, Scotland, Australia, and Japan). The game also lets four players hit the courses at once.

Tee Off Golf is currently set for a release in January of 2000. From what we've seen so far, it looks like a fun, albeit very simplistic, game of golf. We'll deliver a full hands-on preview soon, but for now, make sure to check out this new media we've captured.
