First Look: Cultures

GameSpot has received a final build of Cultures, a real-time strategy game from Xicat and Funatics Development. Cultures is a civilization-building strategy game where players are in control of Viking explorers in North America. These explorers are looking for meteor fragments that appease the Viking gods and restore harmony to the homeland. While searching the surrounding areas, players encounter native inhabitants as well as other Vikings that may either be friendly or hostile. Players can assign their Vikings to a number of different jobs, such as lumberjack or sword smith, and players can build roads and assign merchants to buildings to increase the colony's productivity. In addition to the single-player campaign, Cultures also features two multiplayer modes.
