First look: Alone In The Dark PS2
See the first screenshots from the PlayStation 2 version of Alone In The Dark.
While the PS and GBC versions of Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare have already hit store shelves, the other versions are still in development. Most prominently, the PS2 version won't be released until later this year. In the meantime, Infogrames sent us the first screenshots from that version. The screens show a number of new locations like a swamp and a lava-filled cave. You can also see both protagonists, Edward Carnby and Aline Cedrac, who meet each other for the first time on Shadow Island. Edward is there because he wants to investigate the mysterious death of his best friend, Charles Fiske, who died on Shadow Island. Edward soon finds out that Charles was searching for three ancient tablets that can reportedly unlock enormous power.
Aline Cedrac is there for similar reasons. She's an archaeologist, and she's also looking for those mysterious tablets. At some point in the game, Edward and Aline cross paths, and from there on, they cooperate extensively.
The PS2 version of Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare is being developed by the French studio Darkworks.
