Final Fantasy IX To Arrive Early In Japan
The wait for Japanese gamers gets shorter as Square moves up the release date for the next installment in its popular Final Fantasy series.
Square Co. has confirmed that the release date for its upcoming PlayStation role-playing game, Final Fantasy IX, has been pushed up to Friday, July 7, from the original release date of July 19. This earlier release should entice Japanese PlayStation gamers, who embraced previous installments of the series.
At its release, the game will carry a suggested retail price of 7,800 yen. No word yet on a specific US release date for Final Fantasy IX, as it is still slated for a tentative late 2000 launch.
