Comments

A long journey comes to a close in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. No, we're not talking about the hunt for Sephiroth. We're just discussing a card game here. Here's our guide on how to get the legendary Shadowblood Queen card in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Likewise, please be reminded that this article contains spoilers.

How to get the Shadowblood Queen card in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

The Shadowblood Queen card is a reward for completing the Queen's Blood narrative arc. Here's a quick summary:

  • In our opponents and rankings guide, we mentioned that beating each Keeper of the Cruor triggers a vision where Cloud learns about the mystery surrounding the card game.
  • It appears that an entity known as the Shadowblood Queen is driving players mad.
  • Once you've defeated your 28th opponent, you can face another foe that grants you the Emerald Witch card.
  • It's said that the person who has the Emerald Witch card in their possession is the only one who can vanquish the Shadowblood Queen.

Where to find the Shadowblood Queen

Upon receiving the Emerald Witch card, Chadley informs you that he's found the Shadowblood Queen. You have to head to the Ancient Ruins in Gongaga region to face this foe:

How to win the match

There are a few things to keep in mind if you want to obtain the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Shadowblood Queen card:

  • You'll always have the Emerald Witch card in your starting hand.
  • Your opponent, meanwhile, will always have the Shadowblood Queen card placed on B5 (middle row, fifth column).
  • The Shadowblood Queen gains +3 power for each other enfeebled allied and enemy card.
  • Your enemy also uses corrupted summon cards known as Royal Retainers. All of them lower the power of allied and enemy cards on affected tiles by -1.
Cards with only +1 power will get instantly destroyed.
Cards with only +1 power will get instantly destroyed.

Basically, you're looking at a match where a lot of cards get debuffed. While this is going on, the Shadowblood Queen card gains more power due to its passive ability. It also means that you're likely to lose the middle lane, so you have to focus on the top and bottom lanes instead.

Likewise, due to enfeeblement, it's extremely risky to place +1 power cards. They'd simply get destroyed the moment you put them on the board.

Still, we managed to pull through with our usual setup consisting of Ifrit and cheap boosters like Crystalline Crab. We also had a backup plan with the Chocobo Jockey, which added +10 bonus points to our total score. Shadowblood Queen card effects

The Shadowblood Queen card has the following characteristics:

  • +3 power
  • +3 rank cost
  • Opener/rank increase: C-shaped pattern
  • Ability: Gain +3 power for each other enfeebled allied and enemy card.

This is something that works well with debuffer setups. However, given that late-game opponents like to use the enfeeblement effect, then this card can still gain benefits.

That's how you get the Shadowblood Queen card in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. You're pretty much done with the minigame's narrative arc, but there are still a lot of cards that you can collect from other sources.

Spoilers: What happens at the end of the match

Read at your own risk if you want to find out about the conclusion of this arc:

  • Your opponent--the person possessed by the Shadowblood Queen--is none other than Regina. She's been obsessed with winning, leading to her corruption.
  • Cloud attempts to throw the Emerald Witch card to free her to no avail. Then, just as Regina is about to choke him, Vincent Valentine, the player you defeated to obtain the Emerald Witch card, appears.
  • Vincent shoots the remaining corrupted cards, allowing Cloud to free Regina from the curse.
