FIFA 12 PSP bundle hits November 15

Downloadable Cars 2: The Video Game joins UMD version of EA soccer sim in new $160 PSP Entertainment Pack next month.

The PlayStation Vita is just a few months away from its release date, but the PSP still has one last holiday in the West as Sony's primary handheld. The console maker today announced a new bundle that will include two very different takes on two very different sports.

Sony's latest PSP bundle.

The details of the new bundle were revealed via the PlayStation Blog. Hitting on November 15 in the US, the new $160 PSP Entertainment Pack will include a UMD copy of FIFA 2012, as well as a 2GB Memory Stick Pro Duo and a voucher for a downloadable copy of Disney Interactive Studios' Cars 2: The Video Game.

Cars 2: The Video Game is finally seeing a release on Sony's portable after receiving a positive critical reception on a myriad of other platforms this summer. The PSP version is set for a November 8 release at retail and the PlayStation Network for $30; FIFA 2012 is available now for $40. The stand-alone PSP-3000 system has been selling for $130 with no games or memory card since a price drop in February.

The typical response to these kind of things is "Why? Why are you milking Platform A when Platform B is right around the corner?" You see, they're looking at the people that they know will be too cheap to buy a Vita. I've seen it firsthand, went to a game store around the time the 360 came out and a woman was asking for a first generation Xbox.

This is an excellent savings, Sony PSP last Christmas so if you still have not tried PSP and want to. Now is your chance. Sony has done better then expected with PSP and will do better with PSvita.

Should bump it down to $99, it would be a pretty good deal for the holiday, granted, i do agree that more PSP promotion isn't going to drag in the people that know about the Vita in a few months. But i think this will sell to those that don't know about the Vita.(Like moms/dads buying gifts for their kids) so they're trying to target them with this bundle i believe. Just lower the price Sony to at least $99, then it would be a steal imo.

I'm confused, so the Vita is coming out in a second, and they're promoting the PSP with a new bundle? I get the holiday rush, but who is going to buy this knowing if they save the money, they can sink it into the Vita, if the want the next handheld Sony has to offer?
