FFXIII bundles coming to the UK

Elite and super-elite bundles launching on March 9 with exclusive avatar items; limited-edition faceplate available on preorders.

Yesterday, Microsoft confirmed that the rumoured Final Fantasy XIII Xbox 360 bundle would be launching alongside the game on March 9 in the US. Now, Square Enix has announced that it will be releasing not one, but two special-edition bundles in the UK.

The UK gets much fancier box art.

The first bundle is identical to the US version, containing a white console with a 250GB hard drive, two wireless controllers, and a standard copy of the game. In addition, the bundle will contain exclusive DLC items: one Rosch outfit, one Nabaat outfit, and a Chocobo pet for avatars. Gamers who preorder the system will also receive a limited-edition faceplate created by character designer Tetsuya Nomura.

The limited-edition faceplate preorder incentive.

The second bundle will contain a black Xbox 360 with a 120GB hard drive, one wireless controller, and a copy of the game. The UK will also be treated to more-ornate box art than the US version. Both systems will be released alongside the game on March 9, but pricing has not yet been announced.

surely those hardened gamers that are into Final Fantasy already have their console of choice!? only those with money to burn will bother with this... it's nice and everything, but it seems like a pointless bundle to me.
