Feel the Magic: XY/XX First Look

Get all touchy-feely with your Nintendo DS touch screen with Sega's upcoming launch game.

Comments

Originally shown at the Tokyo Game Show last month, Sega has announced plans to bring Sonic Team's new Nintendo DS game, Kimi no Tame Nara Shineru, which roughly translates to "I Would Die for Your Sake," to the US under the even creepier name of Feel the Magic: XY/XX.

The description makes it sound like a dating sim, but Feel the Magic is actually a collection of various minigames, tied together by your character's quest to win the heart of a woman. You'll be trying to get her to date you, but once you do, a rival comes into the picture and starts rubbing salt in your game. Fitting somewhere into all this madness is a rabbit-ear-wearing gang known as the Rub Rabbits.

The minigames will make use of the Nintendo DS touch screen, as well as the system's built-in microphone. Using these tools, you'll defend yourself from charging bulls, blow out large candles by blowing into the microphone, and more.

Graphically, Feel the Magic has a pretty unique look to it. Much of the game's story is conveyed using silhouettes of the characters. This should fit pretty well with the game's crazy premise and design.

Feel the Magic: XY/XX is scheduled to ship alongside the Nintendo DS on November 21. We'll have more specifics on the gameplay soon.
