February's US PlayStation Plus update features Outlast on PS4

Also includes Metro: Last Light on PS3 and Street Fighter X Tekken on Vita.

Sony has unveiled its lineup for PlayStation Plus in February for US subscribers, with PlayStation 4 horror game Outlast headlining the set.

Outlast was originally released on the PC back in September 2013. In the GameSpot review, Leif Johnson said that Outlast "never loses sight of the 'survival' component of survival horror, and in such a way that reminds us that few things on this earth can be as terrifying as our fellow human beings."

Over on PlayStation 3, subscribers will be able to get the multiplayer co-op shooter Payday 2, atmospheric FPS Metro: Last Light, and Capcom's Remember Me.

Last year, GameSpot awarded Metro: Last Light a whopping 9 in its review, with Payday 2 and Remember me both clocking respectable 7's.

Rounding out February's offerings are also Street Fighter X Tekken and ModNation Racers: Road Trip on the Vita.

A 12-month subscription to PlayStation Plus costs $49.99.

I got VITA, PS3, AND PS4 though ps plus is not free its well worth it i have my sub paid up for 3 years and still buy games as well and it gives you cloud storage.

I heard that that Metro: Last Light would be coming out for PS4, is this true? If so, does anybody know when it will come out? I know it's free for PS3 now, but I would rather play it on the PS4 (more comfortable controller and better graphics).

I need a good reason to dust off the ps4.  I hope this does the trick.  Give me a good rpg already for pete's sake.   Eh, I guess I can transfer over FF XIV in April.  I want The Witcher 3 though.  Or Deep Down, or something.  Anything.  I know they're coming though cause I've got a metric f***ton of rpgs for my ps3.

I can't believe that Sony would make me pay 30 dollars....yes a whole 30! For a years subscription to ps plus that gives me free games and discounts on my ps3's ps vita's and my ps4 that would save me anywhere from abouts 2000 to 3000 dollars in games, but maybe more... through out the year....and then have the audacity to to just keep treating me like a valued customer whether I was a ps plus member or not. Sony you have some nerve, and then to boot once I've beat all of the games and I don't ever play them anymore all I half to do is just not give them 30 dollars again and I don't half to get all of the awesomeness they would give me next year....If I didn't have this heavy ass Xbox one Ton i bought as a anchor to hold me down I would prolly take off like a rocket from all of the rage!! Thanks Xbox for keeping me grounded and reminding me the world is still the crappy place I grew up in and still live in :-) because Sony almost made me forget.....those bastards......those wonderful, generous bastards....how dare they try and shine a bright light in a world full of pay to play games and currency costs and cash cards.....how dare you.....LoL...LMFAO.....

If you own a ps3, ps4, and a vita, the subscription pays for itself with all of the free swag you get.if you just own a ps4 not so much. I recommend having at least a 3 and a 4 to get value from the subscription.

Well not really Rental since a Rental you have to return and get fined for not returning while a "Trial" technology doesn't need to be returned and becomes useless after the trial has ended just like PS+

If you wanna get REALLY technical about it then stop using the term "trial". "Rental" is probably the most appropriate use of the system. Trial would be testing out a piece of the game with the intent of seeing if it's worth purchasing yourself. Renting would be to pay someone or something (In this case, the cost of PS Plus ~$30-$50) for the use of something (in this case, the Plus games).

Can't deny. PS Plus offers great value.

I loved listening to my friends brag about how Microsoft is giving away games that are like 5-6 years old for free. I then show them my PS+ free games list. They were jarred and only had the pathetic comeback "Xbox is still better"

Who's hating?,I just don't think PS plus is worth it, seems better to just get the Vita, not worry about PS plus.

Eli Mead

Most people don't play games through more than once, this is a good deal no matter how you slice it. Haters can go hate somewhere else. People like me with a Vita and PS3 get a hell of a lot of value out of PS+. If I REALLY wanted a game I'd get a physical copy. Problem solved.

Sweet, Outlast.  Will be getting that as soon as it is available.

And Xbox gets 2 games, while Sony owners get 1,000 games every month. (Scarcasm)

I rather pay for ps+ than live. Lol I could care less if I don't get too keep em as long as I beat them. Who cares if they go away after your sub ends? I mean you paid 'for the sub anyways I'm pretty sure you can keep paying for it. 30 bucks a year. Not bad. You need ps+ and or live to get these games anyways. Your gonna have to keep paying for the sub for PlayStation and Xbox to get these games. And too even play online.

What games does Xbone get with paid Xbox live gold membership ? Oh thats right. NONE. just a bunch of ads. Lol

O damn 30 bucks a year if you buy on sale for black Friday. Pays for itself in one month, why would you stop paying for it.

Kevin Taylor

That doesn't make it a trial? If you discontinue your account and then rejoin at a later date, all the games you previously downloaded will be available once again. Providing of course that you added them to your downloads when they were available.

Stop paying for PS+ then try playing one of those 'free games' then get back to me if it works because it shouldn't. -_-

I find playstation plus' instant library feature overwhelming. But I also buy a lot of games, so my backlog just gets doubled month after month. The discounts are great, though.

Simon Corbett Bsc

Exactly, I know my stuff, sure every service has it's positive/negative roles but it doesn't mean Sony are perfect. Also Edward it's not free, it's just a trial. -_-

Why would you let it expire would you get tired of getting free games or is it the big discounts that bug you?

Anthony Evans

must agree with Simon I was going to get a psn subcription butseeing as you cant keep the games if you cancel PSN seems kind of lame to me. AT least live lets me keep it forever once I get it intially.

Sighs, more FPS games. Makes me feel my sub is worthless to be honest...

Looks really good. Payday 2 and Metro Last Light on PS3, Outlast on PS4, and ModNation and Street Fighter X Tekken on a Vita. Better clear out some room on my HD.

Steam does the exact same thing.........except they don't charge you an extra 40+ a year, Really should do some research because if you decide that you don't want to keep paying it every year then guess what those games that were free for a while become completly useless. -_-

plus the discounts, early access to betas and exclusive content. Guess you never thoroughly checked. One sub covers 3 systems, so yeah kind of a rip off huh....nope

How did you get PS plus for $30? I spent 50. I suppose it's too late now, but I'm curious for next year when I renew it.

genoweaver

PS+ Is fine, if you linger on a console and game. If you think all games are just trials. You are nuts. You get full games. And not all games are old games. Perfect examples Resogun & Contrast. Both are full games. Not everyone games on PCs. Nothing wrong with paying for PS+ every year. If people are smart they would pay for a few years in one go. Then not worry about it. I have a year and 5 months not to worry about it. And games to snag in the mean time. Plus I play online so I need it with the PS4. I even plan to throw another year to it.
