The upcoming eighth entry into the Fast and the Furious series has a new title. The movie will be called The Fate of the Furious, and a full trailer lands this weekend--in the meantime, check out the teaser below:

The Fate of the Furious is directed by F. Gary Gray, who most recently helmed the hugely successful hip-hop biopic Straight Outta Compton. Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, and Jason Statham are all returning from the previous movies and are joined by Charlize Theron, Helen Mirren, and Kurt Russell.

In August, Johnson took to Instagram to accuse unnamed members of the cast of being "candy asses" who didn't behave as "true professionals" on the set. In a recent interview, the star explained that he didn't regret making this post.

"I was very clear with what I said. I've been in the game a long time," he told the LA Times. "Would Universal have preferred that didn't happen? Sure, we talked about it. The irony is after that and as they do their tracking and all their analysis, the interest shot through the roof to a whole other level."

Earlier this year, Diesel announced the release dates for the next three parts in the series, with parts 9 and 10 following in 2019 and 2021. He also told Variety that there were plans for spinoffs. "We've written out story lines for various characters," he said. "We've been playing with it for a long time. It's a very rich property and we're committed to treating it with a lot of class."
