Following a last-minute delay, the v1.2 patch for Far Cry, the acclaimed shooter from Ubisoft and German developer Crytek, has now been released. Currently downloadable from GameSpot DLX, the 66.9MB update comes with enough gameplay adjustments to overrun a remote tropical island.
Besides adding a new quicksave function, the patch tweaks the strength and accuracy of weapons in multiplayer as well as increases players' sprint speeds and distances. Vehicle damage has also been adjusted to reflect more-realistic parameters. Among the bugs addressed in the patch are some Punkbuster incompatibilities and headshot detection issues.
