A new update for Fallout Shelter launched today, adding new quests and a "special visit" from Fallout 4 Nuka-World amusement park characters Bottle and Cappy.

First, there are "a ton"' of new quests now available, which see Overseer's sending their dwellers out into the wasteland for a variety of "exploration and combat excursions." Today's update, 1.7, also adds new quest types, including weekly ones that begin every Friday and special event and holiday quests.

Additionally, the update lets you spend currency to skip quests if you want.

As for the Fallout 4 Nuka-World crossover, here's Bethesda's description:

"To celebrate the launch of the Nuka-World add-on for Fallout 4, all Fallout Shelter players will receive their first Special Event Quest: a Nuka-World-themed mission which, once completed, allows Nuka-World mascots Bottle and Cappy to appear in the Vault. Tapping on Bottle and Cappy while they visit will reward players with Caps and Nuka-Cola Quantum."

Additionally, Fallout Shelter's 1.7 update adds a "bevy" of new objectives for vault gameplay that give players new ways to earn resources. Click through the images in the gallery above to get a closer look at the content featured in Fallout Shelter's 1.7 update.

Fallout Shelter, the first-ever mobile game from Bethesda Game Studios, is available now as a free-to-play game (supported by microtransactions) for iOS, Android, and PC. The game has been a huge hit, racking up 50 million downloads as of June and bringing in millions from its microtransactions.

Unsurprisingly, Bethesda is going to make more mobile games, though none have been announced.

Fallout 4's Nuka-World expansion, the game's last one, comes out on August 30 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. You can see a lot of gameplay footage from it here.
