F1 2013 arriving in October

Codemasters confirms an October 4 release date for this year's F1 tie-in game.

F1 2013 will launch for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on October 4, Codemasters has confirmed.

The headline feature of this year's Formula 1 tie-in is that classic cars from the 80s and 90s will be included in the game, with a larger garage available to those who purchase the F1 2013 Classics Edition, which will arrive at a higher price than the standard edition of the game.

Buyers of the standard edition will be able to purchase the additional content as DLC, Codemasters adds.

The game will also be updated to include the team and car changes for the 2013 season, including tyre changes and remodeled handling.

Codemasters recently released videos showing off hot laps of both Silverstone and the Nürburgring in this year's F1.

Season mode? You really should get the basics before moving on to the short simple extras.

I really like that the engine and track noise is all that takes center stage when you're racing around tracks. Minor but means a ton to me.

October 4th. Wow, thats either ballsy or stupid. Just over 2 weeks after GTA 5 has been released. Everyone and their gran will be playing GTA 5 at this point!.

This will suck, like the others.

F1 2012 was a horribly unfinished wreck (look at what 12 patches fixed). A bad game any way you slice it! The new gimmicks to this year's edition doesn't exactly inspire confidence in the tens of thousands that felt ripped off. F 1 fans deserve better, imo.

I personally dont care about classic cars in Formula one.
When i think back, then i remember only great drivers and not cars.
That means,i will not look (if at all,i passed F1 2012 due the lackluster career mode) after a classic edition...standard is just fine.
What i would be more interested in are some tracks where F1 once had races but since many years not more...like Long Beach,Kyalami,Bugatti,Fair Park etc.

My Steam backlog is so big that I haven't got to F1 2012 yet!

I need to pay for more cars in the only different thing between this and f12012?

what's next? having to pay to drive for top teams in the career mode?

"Anything can happen in Formula One... and usually does!"

It's Formula One and a video game. Two of my greatest passions combined. So I am looking forward to it.

I'm sure it will be good.

It's a real shame Codemasters have gone down the day 1 DLC and casual route. GRID 2 was quite dull and just felt like they went backwards in many aspects.

I really hope this and DiRT 4 don't get the same treatment.

On a more serious note, it's a shame the classic cars won't have a proper season mode, missed opportunity there.

Including tyre changes - so random tire blowouts then? Doh!

@Snakpakk Would also like to hear the transmission on downshifts/upshifts, people always forget the noise.

@TVsportsCOD I don't think there are enough classic cars yet, although a classic season may be something they'd consider down the line as it seems to be a progressive thing they're working on.

@bvhdgu I passed on Grid2 because no cockpit view.
