Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has today announced that it will release EyeToy: Groove in Europe toward the end of this year. The second game to take advantage of the recently released EyeToy USB camera peripheral, EyeToy: Groove will offer players the chance to dance to licensed music tracks live on their TV.

Players will be required to dance in time with the music in the game, by posing, waving, swiping, and hitting rhythm zones. EyeToy: Groove will feature both single- and multiplayer support, and bonus points will be available for players who move their body the most. Players will also be able to create their own dance patterns with which to challenge friends and can figure out how much energy they're burning using an in-game calorie counter.

EyeToy: Groove will feature more than 25 licensed music tracks, and artists confirmed for inclusion to date include Madonna, Misteeq, Sister Sledge, The Jackson Five, and The Cheeky Girls. We'll bring you more information on EyeToy: Groove as soon as it becomes available. In the meantime, you might be interested to check out our previous coverage of EyeToy: Play, which was released in Europe earlier this year and is currently scheduled for release in North America in October.
