Like its predecessor Rage of Mages, Evil Islands from Nival Interactive will take place on a series of islands floating in an astral halo. The upcoming action role-playing game will feature three primary environments: Gipat, Ingos, and Suslanger. Gipat is where the player begins. It resembles Europe in the summer, and despite its pleasant green hills and thick forests, it is inhabited by a wide range of dangerous creatures such as goblins and orcs. There is no metal on Gipat, and as a result most weapons and objects are made from ivory or stone, and armor is fashioned out of animal hides. The island's small human population is constantly fighting for survival. Although the Cania Empire once started a settlement on Gipat, after it failed no other major power has considered it important enough to settle.

Ingos is a large, cold island made up primarily of snow-covered forests. It is controlled by the Cania Empire. The island is sparsely populated, and there are no large cities. Inhabitants of Ingos make their living mining gold and ore, hunting, and cutting wood. The only official leadership on Ingos is the Elder Counsel, but it has little power over the villages, which operate more or less independently.

Suslanger is part of the Hadagan Empire. It is a dry and barren island made up of scorching deserts crossed with canyons and gorges. The little farming that can be done on the island is located in the lowlands, and the inhabitants have built a series of dams and canals to increase the farmable area. Several deep dungeons guarded by dangerous and powerful monsters are scattered across the island as well.
