Every Extend Extra goes Extreme

XBL version of the game coming that will let players use their own music.

by

Q Entertainment has announced that legendary designer Tetsuya Mizuguchi's game Every Extend Extra is coming to Xbox Live Arcade. The new version of the game, called Every Extend Extra Extreme, will feature a variety of enhancements, including 5.1 surround sound.

E4--as the game is being called--also lets players choose one of their own CDs to use for the in-game music, in a mode called S4, Wiz ur Muzik. There will also be online multiplayer, along with online leaderboards, achievements and Gamer Scores.

Every Extend, the original game in the series, was released in 2004 as a PC freeware game. The game was then updated and revamped as Every Extend Extra for launch on the PlayStation Portable in November 2006 (February 2007 in Europe).

The aim of Every Extend Extra Extreme is to create a series of chain reactions by defeating enemies. It is the latest trippy title from Mizuguchi, who created Rez, along with puzzle games Lumines and Meteos.

Proberly 1 of the worst games I have played in a long time. How they charge that many points for it is beyond me. I would proberly have more fun licking penguin $h1t!!!

Sweet I am excited. Something different for a change. I was tempted by the PSP version but this should be half the price and with custom soundtracks. This week is full of good news for life. Now if we could just get a game out every week. This game may not be for everyone but neither was Rez.

EEE was hyped up to be the must have title this year at E3 for the PSP. Every media outlet said that EEE was going to be great for the handheld. But it swam around in a pool of mediocrity.

Then, they'll make a new one for Wii, called Every Extend Extra Extreme Enjoyment. Enriched. and whatever E-word they can think of too add.

Isn't it weird how all the PSP titles that are system sellers are ending up on the XBLA? For reals, what the heck is going on with Sony??

Wheres the XBLA versions of Tetris, Dr. Mario, and Super Buster Brothers?? Those were awesome. I mean, Dr. Mario is a stretch, but why not Tetris? Or even a new version of that Tetris 64, where you solved a whole giant sphere puzzle and not just a single collumb puzzle.

Lumines was great, so I was interested in E3, but with my PSP all but dead I wasn't about to revive that for a single game. Now I guess I can play it, so long as it's not 1200 points....I'm looking at you Lumines...

Using my own music sounds cool, but the game doesn't seem to great.

Never played the PSP or PC versions... might have to try it out. Meteos was OK, and Lumines is probably the best puzzle game I've played since Tetris.

So this is being announced now, so we should see it in November

Is it just me or is it that I find that puzzle games are becoming more and more homely on XBL Arcade? First it was Lumines, now this? What's next? XBL Arcade version of Crunch?

Hopefully, this will be released better than Lumines Live. Anyway, good news, since I've never played the original.

Well, I like the Custom Soundtrack feature, so I might look into it.

They better not be charging more than 400 points for this game. Seriously, 401 would be too much. Ideally this would be free. . .just like the way it started.

Cool, custom soundtracks could be fun and Mizuguchi's games have been great in the past. Just got Lumines Plus and am thoroughly enjoying it.

Sounds pretty neat! Hopefully Lumines won't be in pieces anymore due to the size cap increasing to 150 Mbs.

Yeah, the way they sold me Lumines as a series of downloads sucked. I love the vision behind games like Rez and Lumines. I am looking forward to E4.

I dont think they'll sell it in pieces, lumines was done like that since the size cap was 50mbs, now it has been increased to 150mbs

Sounds good to me, just as long as they don't try to sell it in pieces like Lumines Live.

I predict 1200 MS Points (15 bucks) for this one like Lumines Live.
