Sony Online Entertainment will exhibit EverQuest Online Adventures: Frontiers, an expansion pack to its massively multiplayer role-playing game, at E3 2003. The original game, EverQuest Online Adventures, was released in February of 2003 for the PlayStation 2. Frontiers adds new content to EverQuest Online Adventures, extending the world of Tunaria for current players.

Frontiers includes more than 162 square miles of new territory, including three new cities, 24 new dungeons, and an entire new continent with terrain features such as red rock canyons and lava streams. When you combine that with the area of the original EverQuest Online Adventures, you'll have more than 500 square miles of land to explore. Character models and armor have been enhanced in Frontiers for greater customization, and you'll also be able to collect hundreds of new items. Sony Online has also included extras for existing high-level characters, such as new quests and a new class mastery system for further character advancement.

Frontiers also includes a new playable race, the ogres, who can serve as fearsome warriors and also wield the most powerful magic in the game. Three new nonplayer races have been added as well: the Negas, the Faun, and the Couatl. Newcomers will be able to quickly learn the game thanks to an in-game tutorial, controller instructions, and in-game customer service.

EverQuest Online Adventures: Frontiers is slated for a fall 2003 release. We'll bring you more information about the game from E3.
