EverQuest extension available for download

Sony Online announces that the latest for-pay expansion for EverQuest, The Legacy of Ykesha, is available to subscribers as an in-game download. The update, which Sony Online calls an "extension," includes new interfaces for grouping, guild management, and mapping zones. There's also some new content: new zones, creatures, and an additional playable race.

"The Legacy of Ykesha is a unique addition to the EverQuest series in that the development team's primary focus has been technical enhancements," said Michael Lustenberger, director of product marketing at Sony Online. "We're committed to delivering what EverQuest players have been asking for with new and enhanced gameplay features and innovative content that make adventuring in Norrath all the more exhilarating."

The Legacy of Ykesha costs $21.95 to download. Modem users can look for it on retail discs in the coming weeks, but the product is primarily targeted at online distribution and will be available only at select retailers. For more details, check out our previous coverage of the expansion.
