EVE Online reaches subscriber milestone

MMORPG from CCP touts growth to subscriber base; charts 45 percent increase since the beginning of the year.

EVE Online: The Second Genesis, the debut game from Icelandic publisher CCP, recently broke the 50,000 subscriber barrier. The milestone follows several concurrent player records for the science fiction massively multiplayer online role-playing game, the most recent being 11,284 players playing simultaneously on a single server. In its current form, EVE Online is not separated into different worlds, and it is said to be able to handle up to 25,000 concurrent players with no slowdown to gameplay.
