Save the Carpenter so you can gain more base-related blueprints in Enshrouded.

Comments

Enshrouded has you fortifying your base of operations. Naturally, you might want to tidy up and beautify the place with lots of furniture and fixtures. For these, you're going to need the help of a particular character. Here's our guide on how to find the Carpenter in Enshrouded.

How to find the Carpenter in Enshrouded

You can find the Carpenter by heading to his specific Ancient Vault, which is all the way to the southeast of the map. Beware since you need to traverse an area that's blanketed by the Shroud. In fact, the ruins that you'll eventually enter is covered in deadly mists, too.

How to reach the Ancient Vault - Carpenter

The Enshrouded Carpenter's Ancient Vault is best reached by starting from your initial base and heading directly east. You should reach a cliffside area, whereupon you can activate the Glider to cover as much ground as possible. Just make sure that you land safely before your stamina runs out.

From there, continue along the path until you catch a glimpse of the ruins. The Return Beacon fully replenishes your Shroud timer, and it's also where your character will respawn in case they perish.

Head deeper into the Shroud-covered ruins and try to be quick about it. Apart from racing against the clock due to the Shroud timer, you also have to contend with numerous hostiles. These include little carnivorous bugs and deadly specter-like foes. The floating specters also shoot two projectiles in succession. Try to avoid getting hit or you'll lose a chunk of HP.

Eventually, as you follow the winding path underground, you'll find an Hourglass Capsule near a curious-looking stone wall. You can either dig through it by using the Pickaxe, or you can toss a couple of Explosive Powder Balls. Either way, you'll clear a path to a small chamber that has yet another specter creature.

Once the specter has been defeated, interact with the pod to rescue the Carpenter in Enshrouded. From here, you should exit the mini-dungeon so you can fast travel back to your camp.

After taking out several hostiles, destroy the weakened wall to reveal a pod chamber.

Carpenter crafting functions

Similar to how you rescued the Blacksmith, you also need to use the Summoning Staff and the Construction Hammer to build a shelter for the Carpenter. It's also possible to just place him in the same building that houses the Blacksmith.

In any case, the Carpenter offers additional blueprints that aren't normally found in the Manual Crafting and Workbench Crafting menus. Examples include the Banquet Table, Chandelier, and Stone Fireplace. He also lets you build a Kiln, which is used to process various materials.

Last but not least, this NPC has the Magic Chest blueprint. The description states that the items stored in this container can be used for crafting purposes anywhere in your base. However, we've noticed that this doesn't work at all, so it's probably bugged at the moment.

This is how you can find the Carpenter in Enshrouded. Bear in mind that there are other NPCs that you'll encounter on your journey. These include the Alchemist, Farmer, and Hunter.
