Enlight Breaks From Ubi Soft

According to Enlight Software, the company has spent the last two months negotiating with French-based publisher Ubi Soft Entertainment for the publishing rights for Seven Kingdoms II, the anticipated sequel to Seven Kingdoms, originally published by Interactive Magic.

After Ubi Soft agreed to buy I-Magic's CD-ROM division and the rights to the games therein, it was assumed that Seven Kingdoms II was going to be a part of it. The first Seven Kingdoms was met with rave reviews when it was released and one would assume that with its good sales, Ubi Soft would choose to keep the company close.

Apparently, Enlight and Ubi Soft have not reached an agreement, and Enlight is unwilling to wait any longer. The company announced Thursday that it is seeking a new publisher for the game, and in the meantime will self-publish the game in August. Orders will be accepted on Enlight's web site.
