End of Nations is billed as a massive online strategy game, but we have yet to leap into the closed beta. Fortunately, there is a beta event this weekend, and Senior Editor Kevin VanOrd wanted to check it out. Join him on Saturday, October 6, from 2PM to 4PM Pacific time (5PM Eastern, 10PM London) as he explores the game for the first time! Chide him as he finds his bearings! Heartache and victory are bound to ensue.

This game was an unresponsive jumble of nonsense, and 90% of the closed beta players seemed to be about 9 years old. You send a bunch of units to one spot, they die, then you recall them, then bring them somewhere else and they die there too. Rise of Nations & End of Nations are worlds apart.

Is this related to Rise of Nations?

Ha! I rarely commit to "Closed Beta" thingies, but had to try this game out, earlier last month. I was sooo careful not to tweet or talk about it, because of the NDA, you have to agree upon ... and now, this!! Public! Exposure!

i think there is a problem with the live stream. if its the same place that streamed the league of legends tournament, then there should be an issue. been going on and off the entire day :/

ya i been playin this game and its *uckin* amazing. you level up your commander (u can have more than 1) by playing (win or lose) which gives you skill points which you can spend on new unit types and abilities to use in battle (i dont know if you can eventually unlock them all. I don think so cuz i heard something about lvl 20 being max and im pretty sure there are more than 20 points needed as some skills and units can be upgraded multiple times). you use these abilities and units to build a company (your squad/army). you can buy more than one of each unit or ability but you cannot put them all in the same compny. you have a certain amount of points and each unit/ability takes up points more powerful units/abilities costing more. level 1 you get 1500 points and the strongest regular tank (not hero) you can buy takes around 200 points.heros are way more powerful but cost around double what a normal unit costs. every unit has its own ability heros have way more abilities except the infantry hero which just has 1 (trash). you can bring more than  1 company to battle and it takes around 15-20 seconds to switch between them. i think you get some money back maybe for the company you are switching but you have to enough resources to bring in the new company. you start with 3 company slots 2 of them containing a company. you can buy more company slots with ingame or real money and there are special unique company (which cant be upgraded or changed. you can add units as you gain levels and more points but the original unit cant be changed). there are mods which an be purchased as well. normal units can equip 2 unique company units can equip 3 and heros 2 or 3. some of the mods include more health, max health %, more damage, damage % increase, more armor, max armor %, longer radar range, etc. you gain weath (ingame currency) by playing just like exp. in battle there are different points that can be captured. holding them give various bonuses ranging from being abe to call down a big laser to fry enemies to giving extra resources. resources are given at regulary maybe every few seconds or every 20 seconds. if a unit dies you can bring it back like in dawn of war 2. now that i think about it it is quite like that game except you have way more unit contol. There are 2 factions to choose from. so you can play both sides if you use different commanders. well its gonna be free to play and its comin out real soon. i believe beta keys are still being given and i hear there are lots of them. just sign up on their website. i cud say a bit more but hey gamespot has to get paid somehow right =D. oh ya DOWNLOAD THIS GAME AND COME PLAY!!!!!!!!! YOU WONT REGRET IT IF YOU LIKE RTS IN ANYWAY!!!!
