Empire Interactive going Flat-Out

UK-based publisher to distribute Bugbear's driving game next year.

Comments

Finnish studio Bugbear Entertainment recently announced that it has found a publisher for Flat-Out, its upcoming demolition derby title. Empire Interactive, the UK-based distributor of Starsky and Hutch, will publish the game for the PC, Xbox, and PlayStation 2 in late 2004, most likely releasing the title in the third quarter.

Flat-Out forgoes the high-profile world of NASCAR and Formula One racing for the down-and-dirty demolition derby circuit. Bugbear is promising the game will have "cutting-edge damage modeling techniques" for extra-realistic car damage, as well as a wide range of vehicles for gamers to crash, wreck, and/or destroy. No details on multiplayer or online options are available yet.
