Electronic Music Artist Avicii Unveils New Rhythm Game
Wait for the drop.
During Sony’s Paris Games Week press conference earlier today, DJ, producer, and all-around EDM superstar Avicii appeared in an extended trailer to promote previously unannounced rhythm game Vector, which he believes will capture and convey the energy of his massive live performances. According to the trailer, Avicii served as a committed collaborator during the game’s development.
The game itself resembles early rhythm titles like Harmonix’s Frequency: An Arwing-esque ship travels along a tubular path, soaring over dreamy, impressionistic landscapes as an electronic soundtrack pulses underneath. While the exact extent of Avicii’s involvement, Vector’s core mechanics, and the game’s release window remain unclear, we do know Vector will be a PlayStation 4 exclusive.
We will continue to cover Vector as new details emerge.
