Electronic Arts and MGM Team Up
Convergence becomes a reality for EA and Hollywood.
Electronic Arts and the movie studio Metro-Goldwyn-Meyer have signed an agreement to distribute at least four interactive entertainment titles developed by MGM.
The agreement covers both PC and PlayStation games and will include distribution of WarGames, Return Fire II, the next James Bond project under license (more than likely Tomorrow Never Dies), and Rollerball, for release in the next year or so.
The agreement paves the way for EA to distribute MGM movie-based titles (likes WarGames) as well as separately developed titles (like Return Fire II).
Financial terms were not disclosed and the possibility of distributing more MGM games in the future remains open.
