Eidos shares slide as soccer title slips
Shareholders flee as Eidos confronts delay to signature title Championship Manager 5.
With its shares ending the day on the London exchange and the Nasdaq at 83 pence and $1.50, respectfully, which incidates a drop of 6 percent for the day, one has to wonder how much more punishment Eidos can take. The dip comes on the heels of the company having alerted investors that its soccer title for the PC, Championship Manager 5, would not make its scheduled release in October--and the game might not even make it to retail this year. At the same time, the company reaffirmed that it is "continuing to pursue discussions in relation to the possible sale of the company." UK analysts uniformly reacted to the news by saying the delay only makes prospects of a sale more remote.
