Eidos Gears Up for Two F-1 Titles

Eidos Interactive announced today that it has signed a three-year deal with Japanese video game publisher Video System for distribution of that company's PlayStation and PC CD Formula One title based on the FIA Formula One World Championship.

Koji Furukawa, CEO of Video System said in a statement, "We are keen to capitalize on the recent number one success of F-1 World Grand Prix for Nintendo N64. Video System is currently developing Official FIA Licensed games for Sega Dreamcast as well as the updated F-1 World Grand Prix II for N64."

Video System's Formula One title for the Nintendo 64 was successful in Europe and the US, and Video System's PlayStation and PC Formula One products will be released in the spring (PC) and summer (PlayStation) this year, using 1998 season data. The games will feature eleven teams and their cars, 16 circuits (modeled after the real thing), and a networking option for the PC version that permits 12 players to race against each other.
