Edward Norton Joins Knives Out 2 -- Report

Rian Johnson's Knives Out 2 gains another A list cast member in Edward Norton, sources say

The adventures of eccentric detective Benoit Blanc continue in Knives Out 2, which appears to be ramping up pre-production efforts. The new movie has gained Edward Norton, according to Deadline, who will join Daniel Craig along with the recently cast Dave Bautista.

The movie will be written and directed by Rian Johnson and find a home at Netflix, which has been working on a record-breaking deal to feature both Knives Out 2 and 3.

Not much is known about the plot of the movie. Craig's Blanc, the over-the-top southern private detective who, in Knives Out, helped a rich family get to the bottom of a patriarch's suspicious death, will return--presumably to solve some other mystery. Neither Bautista nor Norton have revealed their roles, but if the sequel follows the format of the original, they're going to be the first of many casting announcements. Knives Out featured the talents of big name stars like Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Toni Collette, Christopher Plummer, LaKeith Stanfield, and Michael Shannon. The massive cast added to the movie's Clue-like style and vibe, giving Blanc a huge number of potential suspects and breadcrumbs to follow as he interrogated each member of the wealthy Drysdale family.

For Bautista, this project is yet another in a long line of new franchises. The actor recently starred in the Zach Snyder film Army of the Dead, and still has the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 on the docket--though he's not likely to return to the MCU after that.

Knives Out 2 currently has no set release date. Production is scheduled to begin in Greece this summer.
