The Adventure Company today announced that it has sent off the master copy of Echo: Secrets of the Lost Cavern for replication. The game is expected to reach store shelves June 21.

After taking gamers to a deserted island in Return to Mysterious Island last year, developer Kheops Studio is dropping gamers off in prehistoric times in Echo. The Parisian studio will next launch players into space with Journey to the Center of the Moon, scheduled for release later this year.

The game follows Arok, a young shaman with a talent for magical cave art. Arok embarks on an adventure that sees him leaving his home to "the heart of one of mankind's forgotten wonders." The gameplay focuses on mind-bending puzzle-solving in the vein of the PC classic Myst. In addition to hunting and gathering, Arok will need to escape predators and navigate mazelike caverns.

Echo: Secrets of the Lost Cavern is rated E for Everyone. Pricing information is currently unavailable. For more details on the game, check out GameSpot's previous coverage, or download the demo from GameSpot DLX.
