PC gamers better not shout, cry, or pout, and Electronic Arts is telling them why. The Sims 2 Holiday Edition is coming to town, the publisher announced today. The latest pack for the popular life simulation unwraps the original The Sims 2 game with a bonus helping of holiday-themed cheer, and will drop into stores November 17.

In addition to all the normal shenanigans Sims can partake in, the Holiday Edition features 40 items from several festive occasions, getting Sims into the spirit of Easter, Christmas, New Year's Eve, and Halloween. As Old Man Winter makes his way into the real world, gamers can decorate their virtual worlds with items such as Christmas lights, reindeer lawn ornaments, and mistletoe as they wait for the arrival of St. Nick.

Fans of the Sims 2 who already own the game won't be left out in the cold. The extra content can also be purchased through the EA store as the Sims 2 Holiday Party Pack. Sims players who can't wait for the new content to arrive under the tree can also download the expansion from EA's direct download site.

The Sims 2 Holiday Edition and Sims 2 Holiday Party Pack are rated T for Teen. The bundle retails for $39.99 and the Party Pack retails for $14.99. For more information on the game, read GameSpot's full review of The Sims 2.
